cinque-terreMany people know about Italy, one of famous city in Italy is Rome. Hmmm…but there is also beauty city in Italy, what it is? Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre (meaning “five villages”) is a place that is protected by UNESCO since 1997. This place is situated in the eastern province of Liguria, Italy, and consists of five villages along the 18 km, a sequence from north to south is called Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Its unique landscape and spectacular scenery: From the canyon’s mouth at 300 m above sea level, you can see the Mediterranean sea and the vineyard on the carpet steep valleys, villages along the coast between the rocks, the home boxes colorful, ships that tie - all in one frame!Hmmm….it is good looking!

Monterosso al Mare is a village north of the hill, surrounded by vineyard and olive tree. Beautiful beach with crystal clear water. Aurora-style tower in the medieval hill village Cappuccini separate traditional and modern. In Saint Francis church there is famous paintings Crucifixion by Van Dyck. Second village, Vernazza, found since the first century and has beautiful architecture that has proven that the people in this village economy is better than the other villages. Third village is Corniglia, located at the end of the bay below the stone terrace vineyard, with it population in this field are as agriculture farmer and  fishermen. There is San Pietro church  that beautiful and gothic style, built 1334 years. The fourth Village is Manarola, This village is between two hill. In this village there is the place begin of paths called La Via de’ll amore (lovers pathway) that can be applied for 30 minutes to Riomaggiore. In the center of the village there is a gothic-style church built in the year 1338. Last is the village of Riomaggiore, located in a narrow valley. This village was first found on the Greek people to the centuries-8. There is San Giovanni Battista church , built in 1340 year with gothic style. Nearby Telemaco Signorini’s house there are a lot of painting village.

To enjoy its natural beauty, the good is on foot between villages for 5 hour.or you can do it in 2-3 days. Village location which is difficult to make the vehicle can not pass. The train must also go through 32 tunnels to penetrate the mountains between the villages. However, if you are fit for hiking, use fire departments train to Levanto La Spezia which stops in each village, between the combine or on foot and by rail. In summer, every day there are regular ships that pass on 5 villages, so that you can see the scenery from the other side. Do not forget to enjoy food security, namely the Liguria Spaghetti al Pesto, pasta with a sauce made from the classic basil, olives, pine nuts and, in one of the restaurants located in the cave in the rock!

How go to there: Most easy to use train with path Ventimiglia-Genoa-Rome, down in Levanto, the new wagon Regionale (R) that will stop at every village. Or take the train to La Spezia and change the train Regionale. Take the train from the airport in Rome Fumicino to Levanto takes 6 hours, Malpensa airport in Milan to Levanto 3 hours, most of the near Pisa that is only 2.5 hours.

Budget:
By Cinque Terre Card (1 day € 5.40, 3 days € 13), you can access without limits chariot on La Spezia Levanto train and to all roads including Nature Observation Points, plus a map of walking routes, train and ferry schedules.

Stay in the hostel (only in Riomaggiore or Manarola) start from € 20, or start from € 50 for three-star hotel. When full, there are other lodging options in Levanto.
